When confronted by 4, 5 or more note chords, always:-
- Work from the bottom up
- Ignore repeated notes an octave or more higher
- Base the chord position on the bottom note only, the other chord notes can be written
in any order above the bottom note
F major example - G-Bb-D are distinct notes, G is bottom note so must be IIa
E minor example - C -A- E are distinct notes, C is bottom note so must be IVb
Bb minor example - C-A natural and F are distinct notes,C is bottom note so must
be Vc
B major example - G# - E and C# are distinct notes, G# is bottom note so must be
IIc
